Preventive Services Are Now Covered for Most Women!

If you have a new health insurance plan or insurance policy beginning on or after September 23, 2010, the following preventive services must be covered without your having to pay a copayment or co-insurance or meet your deductible. In short, there is no out of pocket expense for your well-woman exam under these new guidelines. This applies only when these services are delivered by a network provider. 

Under the new healthcare legislation women’s preventive health care – such as mammograms, screenings for cervical cancer, pre-natal care, and other services – is covered with no cost sharing starting on September 23, 2010 for all new health plans.
