It's a milestone for a Lake City woman and an area hospital.  A revolutionary robotic option for hysterectomies was introduced here in November of 2010.According to the US Department of Health 1 in 3 American women will have a hysterectomy before the age of 60.  Traditionally the surgery requires a large incision and 6 to 8 weeks of recovery.Dr. Tony Agrios is a gynecologist with North Florida.  He said, "Most women after this operation are off any type of pain killers within a few days and they're back to work in 2 to 3 weeks typically."

  • Medical Spotlight 3/28/11 "Single Incision Hysterectomy"
Its no contest. If you are about to undergo surgery, most people would choose an incision that measures one inch over ten inches. That is the upgrade now offered to women who have to have a hysterectomy. In the Medical Spotlight, Anthony Agrios, M.D., an OB/GYN at All About Women and working out of North Florida Regional Medical Center, explains to TV 20's David Snyder how surgeons can perform a hysterectomy with a single, small incision.

  • Medical Spotlight 8/23/10 "Once a Caesarian, always a Caesarian"
Many believe that if a woman has a C-section, that's how she will deliver all her other children. It turns out that is no longer the case for most women. In the Medical Spotlight, Joseph Iobst, M.D., of All About Women and North Florida Regional Medical Center, tells TV 20's David Snyder why doctors are now encouraging a majority of women who had C-sections to deliver differently the next time.

  • Medical Spotlight 5/17/10 "Airstrip OB"
Smart phones are amazing devices. You can rent a Zipcar, fly a three dimensional airplane, and find the latest recipe for eggplant. Now some doctors in North Central Florida are using their smart phones...to help deliver babies. In the Medical Spotlight, Anthony Agrios, M.D., an OB/GYN at All About Women in the North Florida Womens' Center at North Florida Regional Medical Center, shows TV 20's David Snyder how the "Airstrip OB" is helping doctors stay in touch with an expecting mom's labor.
